Short Description of the Works
Design, Manufacture and Installation of a 120 seater spectator stand for Greenisland FC Main Pitch. Works included the design and installation of the concrete foundation.
Compliance and Standards
Our stands are erected in compliance with the “Guide to Safety at Sports Grounds” (“The Green Guide”). Full structural calculations provided based on Eurocodes.
Accessibility and Inclusion
The Spectator stand incorporated 3 No. wheelchair spaces at the top/back row, accessed directly from the clubhouse. The existing levels where the stand was located worked well to
allow this.
Key Features
- Seating capacity of 124 seats
- Covered/roofed areas
- Emergency Lighting installed as part of works
Challenges and Solutions
The levels on site were quite challenging being an existing bank. This led to a bespoke design incorporating the terracing within the concrete foundations. Thoughtful design ensured a smooth installation.
Clubs Thoughts and Impact.
“Once funding was acquired, our dream of progressing the club by having a spectator stand was brought to reality by Linton Fencing & Sportsgrounds Ltd.
The spectator stand has been nothing but positive for us. As well as the fact it covers ours upporters from our not so kind weather on many an occasion, the spectator stand has also benefitted us in terms of our facility now being compliant and accepted as a UEFA training facility for when various nations and their teams visit Northern Ireland to play in tournament and matches. This has brought welcome income and also greater exposure to our facility and football club in general.
As well as hosting UEFA club and international teams, closer to home the spectator stand also ensures our own club is ahead of the curve locally in terms of current and near future criteria that will need to be met around facilities being at a certain standard in order for teams to compete at certain levels and progress higher in the future.” – Stuart McClean, Chairperson,
